Allergy season is here! Could you be suffering from allergies?
People suffer from allergies all year round, not just during “allergy season.”
What are symptoms of allergies?
Each individual could suffer from allergies differently. These are the most common allergy symptoms:
- Respiratory Disorders
- Watery Eyes
- Fatigue/ Insomnia
- Chronic Headaches
- Skin Disorders, Rashes, Psoriasis
- Arthritis
- Fibromyalgia
- Tendinitis
- Indigestion, IBS, Ulcers
Allergy Testing
There are two types of testing for allergies; food allergies are tested by a blood test, and airborne/seasonal allergies are tested by a skin test. The skin test that is offered in our office is virtually pain free, and test up to 58 different allergens. Allergy testing is offered for individuals age 2 and up.
Treatment
Allergen immunotherapy is an option for treatment. Immunotherapy is an injection that contains a certain allergen, and works by your body responding and building the immunity to that allergen. Immunotherapy decreases sensitivity to allergens and provides relief from allergy symptoms even after treatment is completed.
